I’ve recently begun endorsing Zon basses and have just picked up my newest bass, a Zon Sonus 4-string. It sounds amazing, and I will be posting video and audio evidence of this very soon! I am also now endorsing TC Electronic amplifiers and speakers and am using the Rebelhead450 with two 2×10 cabinets. The TC gear sounds out of this world, and has the added benefit of being ultra-portable!

The long-awaited (by some) book Solo Arrangements for Electric Bass is now available from my publishing company Bassline Publishing (www.basslinepublishing.com). The book features solo bass arrangements of ‘The Simpsons’, ‘Shape of My Heart’ and more, plus interviews with all of the major contributors to the solo bass genre.

Sinclair Live at Terminal Studios released

Some cool news… a live EP that I recorded with singer/songwriter James Sinclair has been released on iTunes. The tracks were originally recorded for a video shoot, but came out so well that they have been released as a mini live EP.

Just finishing up a very busy few weeks. Have been teaching bass at the BIMM Summer Schools in Bristol and Brighton for the last three weeks. There’s been a great turnout of bass players this year and it’s been a lot of fun. I’m now looking forward to getting back to finishing up the long awaited Solo Arrangements book and then hopefully working on something new! Hoping to film some solo pieces for YouTube very soon. Stay tuned!

Wow, been a while since the last update! My plan to regularly update my new site has not really worked out has it?! At the moment I am teaching BIMM Summer Schools – a week in Bristol followed by two weeks in Brighton. Alongside this, I’m doing the final proof-read of the Solo Arrangements book and trying to get some practise in.

Hi all, welcome to my new website! This site has been in development for a couple of months and was put together by a great web designer named Laura Kalbag. There’s a fair amount of cool content to check out, so feel free to have a look around! I’ll be trying to blog a bit more regularly and post updates on what I’m working on in the future, and I’ll be uploading transcriptions (either by myself or my students) from time to time.

At the moment I am enjoying the summer holiday from BIMM and working hard on learning the pieces from my forthcoming book Solo Arrangements for Electric Bass, which I am hoping to release later this year. I have also recently stepped down from my job as bassist in the Carl Palmer Band in order to concentrate more on writing books and teaching.

Just finished two days of rehearsals with James Sinclair which culminated with a gig at The Bedford in Balham, London.

The gig went really well and the whole band had a lot of fun!
